Supporting Local Youth and Families Through the Taylor County Fair
AbbyBank recently combined its support for local youth with giving back to the community through the Taylor County Fair Market Animal Sale. This year, AbbyBank purchased both a hog and a lamb from local youth exhibitors and donated the processed meat to community organizations serving families in need.
AbbyBank purchased a hog at the market animal sale and donated the resulting 168 pounds of pork to Stepping Stones of Medford, a local nonprofit that provides free, confidential support services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
AbbyBank also purchased a lamb and donated it to the Taylor County Food Pantry, helping provide food to local families while supporting the youth exhibitor who raised the animal.
“Supporting our local youth through the fair is something we are proud to be a part of each year. Donating the animals allows that support to continue beyond the fairgrounds by helping provide food and resources to families in our community,” said Sue Ackerman, VP Branch Manager at AbbyBank in Medford.
AbbyBank is proud to support events like the Taylor County Fair that bring the community together and provide opportunities to support local youth, agriculture and organizations that make a difference in the lives of area families.
