Strengthening Communities in Marathon County
The AbbyBank Foundation, Inc. recently awarded grants to three Marathon County organizations serving the greater Wausau and Weston area. These projects support improved quality of life through recreation and wellness programming, facility enhancements that improve safety and accessibility, and expanded educational opportunities for students.
Funding was awarded to:
Adaptive Communities – $500 to purchase recreation therapy exercise equipment for a small fitness area within its program space. The equipment will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities during group exercise, individual sessions, and wellness activities led by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, helping promote health, movement, and social engagement.
Humane Society of Marathon County – $1,000 to support parking lot replacement at the organization’s facility. The improvements will enhance safety and accessibility for visitors, staff, volunteers, and animals in care, ensuring a more welcoming and functional environment for the community.
St. Peter Lutheran School – $1,500 to support the addition of four new classrooms through the purchase of Smart TVs and desks. The upgrades will enhance learning environments and provide students with improved tools and flexible classroom spaces to support educational growth.

Since 1986, the foundation has made donations to Abbotsford, Appleton, Green Bay, Gresham, Medford, Shawano, Wausau, Weston, Withee and neighboring area organizations totaling over $1,498,980.91.
