Matt Simons

AbbyBank proudly welcomed Matt to its Leadership Team as Chief Operating Officer in July 2026. With more than 20 years of banking experience, Matt brings extensive expertise in risk management and banking operations, as well as a passion for helping organizations strengthen processes, improve efficiency, and create positive experiences for both customers and employees.  

Matt earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Finance from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. He has also completed the WBA Commercial Lending School and earned a Loan Review Professional Certificate from BAI. His diverse banking background and strategic perspective help guide AbbyBank's continued growth while supporting the employees and customers who make our communities stronger. 

I believe great operations should make banking easier—for both our customers and our employees. As Chief Operating Officer, I lead AbbyBank's operational functions with a focus on finding efficiencies that allow our team to spend more time doing what matters most: creating an outstanding customer experience that truly makes banking about you.

Throughout my career, I've learned that effective processes and a strong service culture go hand in hand. By continually looking for ways to improve how we work, I help position AbbyBank to better serve our customers today while preparing for tomorrow.
