Winning Bid at the Taylor County Fair!

AbbyBank’s winning bid of a 255-lb. hog at the Taylor County Fair reaches to those in need. After acquiring the hog, the bank had the meat processed and delivered to the Community United Pantry (CUP) in Colby and the Indian Head Community Action Agency Food Pantry in Medford. Both pantries are actively helping families from these communities. 

Huey's Hideaway Children's Museum

AbbyBank presented Taylor County Humane Society (TCHS) with $2,500 toward their new shelter. TCHS will be moving their facilities from Bauer Drive in Medford to the new (under construction) location on Gibson Street.

Stepping Stones Matching Donation for March 2017

We presented Stepping Stones with over 100 donated items from their wishlist and a check for $1,106.00 from funds collected in March.


Our Medford AbbyBank Location has teamed up with Stepping Stones in Medford to help raise money for FREE safety, education, and prevention of domestic violence. Donations made through the Medford AbbyBank location in the month of March will be matched by AbbyBank. You can also drop off any donations from the Stepping Stones need/wish list. Thank you to all who donate!

United Way Employee Campaign Week 2016

2016 was our second-year partaking in the United Way employee giving campaign. We had 80% of our employees participate and we raised $3,181.70 for local families of Clark, Marathon, Outagamie and Taylor Counties who are in need. Our internal goals were $3,000 and a 50% employee participation rate. We exceeded our expectations and our employees are very proud of their commitment to improving lives. 

Angel Tree Project

AbbyBank participate in the Angel Tree Project at all of our five locations. Each angel represented an anonymous local child in need. Between all locations AbbyBank was able to provide almost 100 children in need a present for Chirstmas.

United Way Employee Campaign Week

This was AbbyBank's first year participating in an United Way Employee Campaign. We reached our goal!!!  The employees raised $3,271.33! Since this was our first year participating in an employee campaign a local grant matches every dollar we raised! Our total amount raised for 2015 was $6,542.66.

Financial Wellness Conference 2015

AbbyBank is proud to sponsor the Financial Wellness Conference at John Muir Middle School in Wausau, WI on February 7, 2015.  This low-cost conference offers educational help on credit, budgeting, homeownership and housing, investing and building assets for retirement and much more!  The event includes not only classes for adults, but also for children, teenagers, seniors, and parents.  A free credit report, childcare from ages 2-5 and lunch are also included.  Here are links to register and to find out more information.

Matching Your Donations for Holidays Meals to Local Food Pantries

Donate today and AbbyBank will match your donation to provide local families with a holiday meal! AbbyBank will match dollar for dollar all donations collected in the Abbotsford Area up to $1,000 and in the Wausau and Weston area up to a total of $2,000 by December 12th, 2014.

Every dollar donated at our Abbotsford location will help provide a meal for a family in need from the Abbotsford, Colby, Dorchester, or Curtiss area through the CUP Food Pantry in Colby, WI. Every dollar donated at our Wausau or Weston locations will help provide a meal for a family in need from the greater Wausau area on behalf of Peyton's Promise through 16 local food pantries. Monetary donations of any size are welcome.

Please join forces with us to help local families in need during the holidays!



Angels Available on our Angel Trees

AbbyBank will have Angels available on our Christmas trees, starting November 17th, at all of our locations for the public to choose from. Each angel represents an anonymous local child in need. The angel will have the age, sex, and needs of the child for a donor to purchase a Christmas present for that child.

AbbyBank Receives WBA Financial Literacy Award

AbbyBank recently received the WBA Bankers Promoting Financial Literacy Award for their work in their communities promoting sound financial habits.  AbbyBank conducts presentations in schools for career fairs, Junior Achievement, personal finance classes, and daycares.  In addition, the bank continues to support the Get Smart Wausau Coalition, Asset Builders of Wisconsin and the Financial Wellness Conference with not only time and talent, but also monetary donations.  The past several years, AbbyBank has been supporting Abbotsford, Wausau East and Wausau West High Schools with the EverFi financial literacy computer program to assist the personal finance class.  During the fall of 2012, AbbyBank also created a new yearly program that offers local DECA and FBLA groups the opportunity to learn more about creating social media videos about financial literacy for the chance to win money to support their organizations for competition travel expenses.   

“We are proud to receive this award.  AbbyBank has made a commitment to helping our community members by being involved in classrooms, educating customers through various ways and sponsoring or providing programs for individuals to improve their own financial situation,” states Jenny Jakel, Community Reinvestment Act Officer at AbbyBank.

AbbyBank in Abbotsford was challenged by Kramer's County Market to do the Ice Bucket Challenge.  We raised $450 for ALS.   AbbyBank's President, Pat McCrackin, also took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge.  The Abbotsford AbbyBank employees challenged the Weston AbbyBank employees.  To see the video, click here.

Fill A Backpack Fill A Need

The Marathon County Fill A Backpack Fill A Need program now has drop locations at AbbyBank through August 18th.  The collection boxes at all AbbyBank locations in Abbotsford, Wausau and Weston, bring together all community efforts in helping local students to receive backpacks filled with needed school supplies for the upcoming school year.  The Fill A Backpack Fill A Need program helps all local needy students in Marathon County schools, including Abbotsford and Colby school districts. 


Wisconsin Valley Fair

AbbyBank was again a proud sponsor of this year’s Ag Adventure Tent at the Wisconsin Valley Fair, July 29th through August 3rd. On Thursday, AbbyBank employees helped local children with free fun activities such as ice cream making and a watermelon eating contest. On Saturday employees also helped serve tea, make sashes and help crown many young girls during the Fairest of the Fair’s Tea Party.
