About AbbyBank in Appleton
AbbyBank is proud to be located in Appleton, Wisconsin since 2016. AbbyBank established a branch in Appleton in the fall of 2016 from an acquisition transition with Fidelity National Bank, adding two new locations to our footprint, one of which is our branch conveniently located on N. Casaloma Drive, across Wisconsin Avenue from the mall, in Appleton. The AbbyBank Appleton building is a large four-story building that houses a number of business tenant spaces throughout the building, in addition to the bank space that occupies part of the main level. This location features two drive-thru lanes and houses less than 10 employees. There is also a community room available for free to business customers, tenants and nonprofit organizations and for a nominal fee to other business users.
What is now known as the City of Appleton, first began to be settled by European fur traders in the mid-1830s, who were looking to do business with the Fox River Valley Native Americans in the area. It was first settled as three unincorporated villages of Grand Chute, Appleton, and Lawesburg in 1847, on the northernmost point of Lake Winnebago. A few years later, they were combined into a single incorporated Village of Appleton. The growth of Appleton shares its history with Lawrence University, originally known as the Lawrence Institute, which was also established in 1847 and grew along with the village. Appleton took its name from Samuel Appleton, the father-in-law of Amos Lawrence who founded the college. Samuel Appleton donated a large sum of money to the new college library and in appreciation, the town took his name. In 1857, Appleton was officially incorporated as a city with a population of approximately 2,000 people. In addition to its early fur trading and educational roots, Appleton owes much of its development to the paper industry. Today, Appleton is a city of approximately 75,000 people, making it the sixth largest city in Wisconsin. It is also the county seat of Outagamie County and is home to the Appleton International Airport, Fox River Mall, the Timber Rattlers Minor League Baseball team at Fox Cities Stadium and also a number of medical care facilities including the Fox Valley's two major hospitals. Appleton is also home to the Appleton Area School District, the sixth largest school district in the state comprising of three high schools, four middle schools, seventeen elementary schools, thirteen charter schools, and one magnet school. In addition, there are a large number of parochial schools and multiple higher education schools including Lawrence University, a private liberal arts college, Fox Valley Technical College, and a satellite campus of Concordia University Wisconsin. The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh at Fox Valley is also nearby in Menasha, WI. There are also a multitude of neighborhood and community parks in the City of Appleton and the city also hosts a large number of regional events such as its Flag Day parade, Memorial Day parade, Christmas parade, Octoberfest, Mile of Music, and others for residents and travelers to Appleton to enjoy.
